The Popular Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PDFLP) is a Palestinian political organization founded in 1967. The group has been known by a number of different names throughout its history, including the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine - Popular Front (DFLP-PF) and the Palestine Popular Democratic Front (PDF). Other terms that have been used to describe the PDFLP and its activities include "leftist" and "progressive." The organization's goals include the establishment of a democratic Palestinian state, the abolition of Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, and the creation of a comprehensive peace between Israelis and Palestinians. The PDFLP has been involved in a number of conflicts with the Israeli government, most notably during the first and second Intifadas.
