The Genus Dipteronia is a small group of deciduous trees native to China and North America. It belongs to the family Sapindaceae. The common name for this genus is ashleaf maple. Its scientific name comes from the Greek words "dipticron" and "non" which means double-winged fruits. The genus includes only two species: Dipteronia sinensis and Dipteronia dyeriana. Both species have opposite, pinnate leaves with serrated edges and produce fragrant white flowers in the late spring.
