Memidex dictionary/thesaurus search box

You can add a free Memidex dictionary/thesaurus search box to your website by simply copying the code below into one or more of your web pages. Here's an example of what the search box might look like (depending on the formatting on your website):

Dictionary/Thesaurus:

HTML/XHTML source code

On-page definitions

The on-page definition feature adds a Define button. When this button is clicked, definitions appear on the same web page. If you'd like to add this optional feature to your Memidex search box, insert the following code after the search box code and before the </body> tag:

Tip: If the search box is empty and you select (highlight) a term on the page, the selected term will be defined when you click Define.

Auto-Suggest

As you type in the input box, the auto-suggest feature displays a drop-down menu of the next alphabetically closest entries. If you'd like to add this optional feature to your Memidex search box, insert the following code after the search box code and before the </body> tag:

Customize it

If you're familiar with HTML/XHTML, feel free to customize the appearance of the search box to meet your needs. All that's asked is that a visible link to Memidex appears somewhere near the search box (as in the example above). If you have more specialized online dictionary/thesaurus needs, contact Memidex.
